Considering that its benefactor Bali Beg died in 1494/1495, the mosque was probably built at the end of the 15th century. The mosque has a square plan and has an ornamented mihrab and a pulpit made entirely of wood. There is a minaret with a single balcony in the northwest corner.

The mosque is covered with a dome supported by an octagonal drum. Rectangular windows at the upper and lower floors on the east, west, and south animate the façades. There is a main door with a depressed arch on the north façade with rectangular windows with round arches on either side. The antiquity registry file recorded by K. Turfan indicates the existence of a repair inscription for the mosque with the date 1849/1850 (Hijri 1266) on the pediment just above the door. However, this inscription no longer survives. There is another inscription on a stone embedded in the wall, just underneath the eaves, at the door level.

The square harim is covered with a dome. The transition to the dome is made with pendentives. The dome and pendentives are decorated with baroque drawings. The niche of the mihrab in the center of the south façade has a rounded arch. The crest of the mihrab, with baroque ornaments, bears a verse inscription. The pendants on both sides of the mihrab and the baroque ornaments on the upper part of the windows on the first floor bear the names of the Prophet Muhammad and the four caliphs. The wooden pulpit is to the west of the mihrab. The wooden women’s prayer hall on the north side is accessible with a 16-step wooden staircase to the east of the door of the harim.

The minaret in the northwest corner was rebuilt in 1963. A beveled octagonal transition segment transitions from the hexagonal pulpit to the cylindrical shaft. Further up are four rows of sawtooth eaves underneath the balcony, followed by the honeycomb gallery topped with a spire.
