Summary
Jointly organised by AKMED and Akdeniz University, Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Ceramics, the Colloquium on Çanakkale Ceramics was held on 2 April 2007. The organisation of the colloquium has presented imposingly that a great distance has been covered since the publication of Türk Devri Çanakkale Seramikleri. Turkish Period Çanakkale Ceramics in 1971 – the augmenting interest in Çanakkale ceramics is reflected in the new collections formed, new publications, research and applications. The supporters are led by the Vehbi Koç Foundation presided by the late Sevgi Gönül, Sadberk Hanım Museum and Suna & İnan Kıraç Research Institute on Mediterranean Civilizations (AKMED). The Institute has presented its Çanakkale collection, currently on display at the Kaleiçi Museum and continuously growing, to the world of science by publishing it (Çanakkale Ceramics) in 1996.
